About OMGICU, The Celebrity Sighting Site
WTF Is OMGICU?
Most of the time you’re probably not hanging out with or spotting celebrities. But someone is. And they need to tell other people about it immediately. OMGICU has you covered with real-time photos, videos and stories of celebs reported to us, Tweeted or posted to Facebook.
So check OMGICU, on the web or on your iPhone, whenever you want to see what famous people are doing right now. On your iPhone, check out the “Nearby” map to see who’s been spotted around you, within the past couple days (recent) or since time began (historic).
And stay connected on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Foursquare for even more.
Reporting To OMGICU
When you DO happen to see someone famous like Mr. Big from Sex and the City or the bald guy the Princess Bride or Beyonce, use OMGICU's iPhone app to shoot photos and videos of what's going on so everyone can see.
You probably want your friends to know when you see someone, so you can share a sighting on Facebook and Twitter when you send it to us.
If you don't have an iPhone, it's OK. You can also email us stories, photos and videos at report@omgicu.com or tweet at @OMGICU on Twitter.
Take A Sneakyshot
If you see a celebrity, but you're too shy to take a photo, press the Sneakyshot button in the upper-right corner of the app. Sneakyshot is normally $1.99, but it’s free for OMGICU users.
Put your phone to your ear and pretend to be making a call. Sneakyshot takes four photos without anyone knowing. Pick the photo you want to submit to OMGICU, add a description of what's going on, share on Facebook or Twitter and upload.
We'll immediately post it to sneakyshot.com, along with everyone else's Sneakyshots, and notify our team to review your sighting right away.
OMGICU Accounts
Currently, OMGICU accounts are created on the iPhone app and are only required for reporting a sighting or sharing a sighting to Facebook or Twitter. We'll add more functionality that will require user accounts on OMGICU.com soon.
Etiquette
OMGICU is designed to let fans capture and share celebrity encounters with the world and to learn more about what famous people are up to right now. With this unprecedented access to celebrities’ lives comes personal responsibility for your own actions. Celebrities, while extraordinary people, are still people and should be afforded the same courtesy and respect you would want afforded to you. If you’d like to take a picture of yourself with a celebrity or invite them to participate in an on-camera interview with you, ask politely and respect their wishes. At no point while using OMGICU should you be putting yourself or others in harm’s way. If you have any concern whatsoever that your behavior might be deemed inappropriate, please do not use OMGICU.
